Eduard Calvo is assistant professor in the Department of Production, Technology and Operations Management at IESE Business School. He holds an M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in telecommunications engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Spain.
Prof. Calvo has held several research posts at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and in 2005 was given the 'Salvà i Campillo' award for the Best Young Engineer by the College of Electrical Engineers of Catalonia. Prof. Calvo's interests lie in the intersection of operations management and telecommunications, with a particular emphasis on the optimization and operation of wireless networks. An expert in optimization theory, he also consults for several industrial firms.
