Christian Eufinger is Professor in the Financial Management Department at IESE Business School. He teaches Banking, Corporate Finance, Valuation, and Operational Finance in IESE’s MBA, Executive MBA, Global Executive MBA, Master in Management, and executive education programs.

Professor Eufinger’s research focuses on financial intermediation, corporate finance, and corporate governance, with particular emphasis on banking regulation, bank capital structure, interbank markets, credit allocation, central bank policy, and the real effects of financial sector behavior on firms and the broader economy.

His work has been published in leading academic journals, including The Journal of Finance, The Review of Financial Studies, Management Science, the Journal of Corporate Finance, and the Journal of International Business Studies. His recent research examines topics such as zombie credit, unconventional monetary policy, government guarantees, supply shocks to inflation, and the role of bank shareholders in credit allocation.

He is Associate Director of Faculty at IESE, Treasurer and Executive Committee Member of the European Finance Association, Academic Director of IESE’s Master in Finance, Director of IESE’s Center for International Finance, and Academic Director of the Citi-IESE Credit and Debt Markets Research Project. He is also a research fellow at several IESE research centers and initiatives.

Professor Eufinger holds a Ph.D. in Finance and an M.Sc. in Quantitative Finance from Goethe University Frankfurt, and a diploma in Business Administration and Engineering from Darmstadt University of Technology.
