Fernando Serra is Former Collaborator in the Operations, Information and Technology Department. He has held several positions at IESE Business School, including as Head of the Production Department. He was the founder and co-chairman of IESE’s International Center of Logistics Research (CIIL). He also initiated and managed the Industrial Marketing diploma of the Chemical Institute of Sarrià.
Professor Serra earned his Ph.D. in Economics and Management as well as his MBA from IESE, University of Navarra. He also holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.
In addition to his activities at IESE, he advises various companies in the areas of operations, production, industrial marketing, the induction of new technologies and logistics and serves on the boards of a large group of businesses. He boasts over 25 years’ experience of consulting for clients in sectors as diverse as the agro-nutritional industry, chemical, transport and electro-mechanics. During this time he was occasionally called upon to rescue companies in serious financial straits.
He has published numerous articles in specialized press. He is also member of the European Operations Management Association (EUROMA), the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) and the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI).
