Joan Jané is the Dean of IESE Business School’s New York Campus, Professor in the Department of Operations, Information and Technology. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and the Executive MBA from ESADE Business School. He also completed General Management Program (PDG) at IESE Business School, University of Navarra and received a Master in Innovation Leadership from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
He joined IESE in 2012 and he is currently teaching in all arrays of open programs and he is also Academic Director of several custom programs and the Director of the Aerospace Industry Meeting. Professor Jané has served as Academic Director of the MBA Program for five years. Apart from the academy, he is an independent member of advisory boards and consultant in Strategy and Operations.
Professor Jané holds a deep executive management experience for more than 25 years at HP leading different positions in Manufacturing, Procurement, Planning, Supply Chain and Logistics at EMEA level for the printing and computing businesses.
His areas of expertise are the innovation of global supply chains and logistics operations, digital supply networks, strategic alliances in supply chain and agile manufacturing. He is also a specialist in Industry 5.0, additive manufacturing technologies, robotics, project management and social impact consulting.
He is a founding member of the Agile Manufacturing Society and has published and co-authored several articles and books in the area of logistics contracts and supply chain management. He was awarded a prize in Logistics Research by the Spanish Logistics Association and has been granted a patent in the US.
