Joan Jané is Professor of the Practice of Management of Operations, Information and Technology Department at IESE Business School. He received his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and the Executive MBA from ESADE Business School. He also developed a PDG at IESE and a Program in Innovation Leadership by the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

He joined IESE in 2012 and he is currently teaching in all array of programs. In addition, he is the Academic Director of the 1st year MBA Program and Academic Director of several customs programs.

Joan holds a deep executive management experience for more than 25 years at HP leading different positions in Manufacturing, Procurement, Planning, Supply Chain and Logistics at EMEA level for the printing and computing businesses.

His areas of expertise are the innovation of global supply chain operations, digital transformation and strategic alliances in supply chain. He is also specialist in Industry 4.0, 3D Printing technologies, project management, customer centric operations and social impact consulting.

He has published and co-authored several articles and books in the area of logistics contracts and supply chain management. He was awarded by the Spanish Logistics Association with a prize in Logistics Research and he was also granted a patent in the US.
