Taking the reins in business today is a pretty exacting undertaking. There’s plenty you have to juggle.

For a start there are the big issues: digital disruption or new business models affecting your value proposition. To disrupt or be disrupted?

Then there’s the increasing challenge of globalization; the cross-border flow of business, people, services … and the shift of economic influence across the globe.

Sifting vast amounts of potentially useful and relevant data to determine a course for your business in today’s increasingly uncertain climate is a fundamental challenge.

And then there’s the need to marshal your resources: to harness the diverse people and networks that constitute your company and its ecosystems around your needs and objectives.

Leadership Webinar: The CEO Agenda

Miquel Lladó, lecturer in strategic management at IESE, invites you to join a free webinar on September 29. “The CEO Agenda will look at the role and importance of agenda-setting and calendar management for CEOs in achieving strategic goals.

Professor Lladò will share insights and observations from a career that has spanned business leadership from a variety of perspectives over the past three decades. He was CEO of Bimbo Spain and Portugal, and Sara Lee Bakery in Europe. He has also been a board member with Berlys Alimentacion and Plasticos Tatay and is founder of Peak Business Advisory.

The webinar is offered in conjunction with the IESE Advanced Management Program (AMP), and builds on a body of research and events focused on leadership over the last academic year.

Earlier this year, IESE professors Rafael Andreu and Joan E. Ricart published an illuminating study entitled “The Genuine Responsibilities of the CEO” setting out four chief areas of responsibility.

These key areas include: focusing on the future; developing the business model; supporting the personal growth of members of the organization; and guaranteeing the consistency and fulfillment of the institutional strategy, which encompasses the company’s organizational principles, values and operational philosophy.
