Marc de la Barrera i Bardalet is an Assistant Professor in the Financial Management Department. He holds degrees in Civil Engineering and Industrial Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, a Master in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra and a Ph.D. in Economics from MIT. He completed his postdoctoral studies at MIT Sloan. He received a La Caixa fellowship to study in the US and the Juan de la Cierva fellowship to start his career at IESE.
His research topics are macroeconomics, finance and labor. In particular, he is interested in how inflation affects labor and financial markets: how it influences the way firms set wages, how it redistributes income across different types of households, and how bonds are priced. He has also worked on international finance and exchange rate determination.
