A Valuable Opportunity for MBA Students
IESE's 2012 Career Forum to be held Oct. 22-24
Despite the uncertain European business context, IESE Business School remains a top recruiting destination for leading companies around the globe.
This is reflected in the 2012 Career Forum, which will be held on the Barcelona campus on Oct. 22-24. Evidence of the school's positive standing among recruiters is the high demand for spots at the event. The outstanding turnout also demonstrates that companies continue to seek talented professionals who have a global mindset, even in challenging times.
One of IESE's key goals is to provide students career opportunities at locations all over the world and in a wide variety of sectors, attracting recruiters from the world's leading companies. This year, 48 top firms will participate in the annual event, including those from the consulting sector (Roland Berger, BCG, McKinsey&Company, Ernst&Young), banking (J.P.Morgan, Santander, Barclays Capital, Deutsche Bank), technology (Samsung, Google, Amazon, Microsoft) and industry (Endesa, Gas Natural, FCC, Syngenta). In addition, an uptick in participation from Latin American companies such as LATAM and BCI marks this year's Career Forum.
During the event, which takes place over three days, almost 600 interviews with companies and second-year students set to graduate in 2013 will be organized. This reflects a 10 percent increase over last year and a considerable logistical feat for the school.
Students increasingly involved
One of the key trends in recent years is the increase in the number of MBA students involved in the wide range of services offered by the Career Services team. Currently, there is an unprecedented level of interaction among students in the first and second years of the program, and a greater number of activities led by Student Clubs - such as global treks - and the Career Services team.
The importance of events such as the Career Forum is reflected in the results. Roughly 90 percent of students in the 2012 graduating class secured employment following the program. To meet the growing demand of companies seeking to recruit at IESE, another Career Forum will be organized for the first time in February 2013.
