Prof. Sachon is the academic co-director of IESE's Advanced Management Program (AMP) in Munich, aimed at board members and company owners. He teaches courses on operations management, operations strategy and analytical tools in operations management on IESE's executive and MBA programs. Besides IESE, Prof. Sachon has taught at various other universities, including Stanford University, the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Spain, and a number of institutions in Latin America and China.
His research areas include e-supply chain management, product development, project management and engineering risk analysis, primarily in the manufacturing and automotive sectors. He has published both in academic journals, such as IEEE Transactions, and business journals such as European Business Forum (EBF). He has contributed chapters to several books on operations management and process improvement.
Prior to entering academia, Prof. Sachon worked for several years at IBM's German headquarters in Stuttgart-Vaihingen. As a consultant, Prof. Sachon has been involved in projects with companies such as Morgan Stanley, Hugo Boss Industries, United Airlines, Merck KG and the Bonneville Power Authority.
