IESE Business School’s Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) ranks third in the world in the Financial Times Executive MBA Ranking 2026, published today.
The result in the prestigious international ranking highlights the strength of IESE’s GEMBA across several key dimensions, including its career impact and relevance for senior executives, the exceptional caliber of its cohort, its immersive global scope, and the school’s deep-rooted commitment to responsible leadership.
“Ranking third in the world reflects the continued excellence and relevance of IESE’s Global EMBA for senior executives worldwide,” says Andrea Montalvo, Associate Dean of Executive Education at IESE Business School. “By combining rigorous learning with invaluable peer-to-peer insights, our GEMBA provides experienced leaders with an unmatched international vantage point and a powerful global network. With immersive modules across three continents and a truly multicultural cohort, the program prepares executives to tackle today’s most critical challenges with confidence and purpose.”
A central strength highlighted by the Financial Times is the program’s tangible impact on graduates’ leadership trajectories, with IESE placing in the global top ten for career progression (no. 9). This career momentum is equally reflected in the relevance of the program to participants’ needs: IESE ranked among the best schools for aims achieved, demonstrating that graduates consistently accomplish their strategic goals for pursuing an executive MBA. Furthermore, alumni rated their experience an average of 9.7 out of 10, placing IESE among the highest-rated institutions for overall participant satisfaction.
Another factor in IESE’s strong ranking result was the seniority and diverse, international profile of the class. IESE ranks no. 2 globally for international students (95% of the class) and no. 5 worldwide for work experience. Students are typically seasoned leaders with more than a decade of experience in large multinational companies across a range of industries, significantly enhancing the peer-to-peer exchange and networking that lies at the heart of the program.
This global perspective is reinforced by an international faculty (92%) and a program design extending far beyond campus walls. Ranking no. 4 worldwide for international course experience, the GEMBA delivers hands-on learning across three continents through intensive residential modules in key business hubs across the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
The enduring value of IESE’s community of more than 60,000 alumni was also recognized, with the school ranking no. 9 in the world for alumni network effectiveness in generating career opportunities.
Finally, in line with IESE’s humanistic mission, the ranking recognized the school’s dedication to sustainability and responsible leadership. IESE ranks no. 4 worldwide for ESG and net zero teaching, reflecting both the core curriculum focus on climate action, ethical governance, and social responsibility and the quality of the teaching in these areas. Additionally, the school placed no. 8 for carbon footprint, demonstrating that IESE’s commitment to sustainability is woven into its everyday operations as well as its classrooms.
