Christmas of Solidarity at IESE
School collaborates with local and international campaigns
Following its tradition, IESE Business School has announced its Christmas Campaign - one of the key activities the school carries out in the area of corporate social responsibility. From December 4 to 20, IESE will encourage staff members, students and friends to give to various humanitarian and social projects, which need help from society in order to improve the lives of those in need.
The Africa Initiative
The first project is in collaboration with the Niger Foundation Hospital, located in Enugu, Nigeria. The hospital focuses on fighting mortality among women and children and improving preventive medicine education in the region. With the support of the company Eurest, the school will offer a special meal, the "Menú Solidario," at its dining rooms in Barcelona and Madrid through December 20. Funds generated from the project (6€ per meal) will be donated to the Niger Foundation Hospital.
No Child Without a Toy
The second initiative is led by Acción Social Montalegre, an association based near the Montalegre Church of Barcelona, which helps those in need living in the surrounding Raval neighborhood. The Campaign "No Child without the Kings," consists of a toy drive for children up to 8 years of age.
Similarly in Madrid, IESE collaborates with the project "A Smile for Christmas," led by Cooperación Internacional, an NGO which focuses its projects on solidarity with the most disadvantaged and collects toys for children from 3 to 14 years of age.
Finally, the school lends its support to a clothing drive organized by Cáritas, the official confederation of social action entities of the Catholic Church in Spain. Established by the Episcopal Conference, the organization leads numerous charitable activities in the country. Clothing collected will be given to those who receive help from the organization.
With the great effort and generosity of all those involved, IESE hopes to continue giving more each year and collaborating with these and many other initiatives.
