Oscar Gallego has been a Lecturer in the Department of Operations, Information and Technology since 2016. He holds a PhD in Economics and Business Sciences from ICADE, Universidad Pontificia de Comillas, a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, USA, and a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Sciences from St. Andrews, USA. He is currently pursuing his second doctorate in Applied Engineering for Quantum Computing at UNAV, Tecnun School of Engineering, in San Sebastián. At IESE Business School, Universidad de Navarra, he completed the IESE AMP (SEP) Americas and the Board Members School (Class President of both cohorts), served as President of IESE Consejeros Invest, and is Secretary General of the IESE/AED/KPMG Board Members School. Oscar Gallego has received 3 awards: “Distinguished Engineer” 2019, Georgia Institute of Technology, GA, USA; EU BS Entrepreneur of the Year 2016; and HP President’s Quality Award 2014.
Oscar has over 26 years of experience in IT and Digital at multinational corporations, primarily P&G, HP, and GE Digital. In these companies he has held several global and EMEA positions as CxO and, most recently, served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of GE Digital Spain and led the GE Industry 4.0 Chair. His academic and professional interest focuses on the combination of exponential technologies for industrial, business, and social improvement, particularly through Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, and Quantum Computing.
In addition to his current role as a Lecturer at IESE, he combines CTO and Advisor roles at several companies (i.e., past and present – CaixaBank, Autocontrol, Air Liquide, Adolfo Dominguez, SIPCAM, El Choque, Premium Minds), is active in digital entrepreneurship as founder of four start-ups (iPlatea 3D Printing, Quantic Brain Private Equity Advisory, Inaris Primus Group Advisory, Inak Hydraulic Engineering), and investor (Halotech, Enzymlogic, Cargatucoche, Criptan, TokenCity, Nerety, Adventurees, TripleOGames, TokenCity). He also has served or serves as a board director at various institutions and companies (ie. Rovenso Robotics, Tetramax EU H2020, Chairman of the Board of Georgia Institute of Technology Global, USA, and in Prosfit non-profit).
