IESE launches Master in Finance to shape future financial leaders
The 11-month program will be taught in Madrid and New York and start in September 2026
June 16, 2025
IESE Business School is proud to announce the launch of its new Master in Finance (MiF), an intensive, full-time 11-month program aimed at preparing a new generation of global financial leaders. The program is offered in collaboration with the School of Economics and Business at the University of Navarra.
Starting in September 2026, the MiF will be taught at IESE’s Madrid campus, with a mandatory international module in New York City.
Taught entirely in English and designed for recent graduates (0–2 years of professional experience), the program blends rigorous technical training with leadership development, ethics, and general management education – hallmarks of IESE’s approach to forming responsible business leaders.
“Today’s CFO is no longer just a financial gatekeeper; they are a strategic partner in navigating technological disruption, sustainability challenges, and global complexity,” said Marc Badia, Deputy Dean of IESE Business School. “With the MiF, we aim to shape forward-thinking professionals who combine deep financial expertise with analytical agility, ethical judgment, and the ability to lead. Our graduates will be ready to thrive in roles ranging from corporate finance and investment banking to entrepreneurial fintech ventures and CFO-track positions in global firms.”
IESE’s MiF targets highly motivated candidates with strong quantitative skills from STEM, finance, economics, or business backgrounds. Graduates will emerge equipped to take on high-impact roles in both financial institutions and corporate finance departments, with a broad understanding of today’s market forces, technological transformations, and leadership imperatives.
Global Exposure, Ethical Foundations
A standout feature of the MiF program is the hands-on module at IESE’s New York campus. Here, students will immerse themselves in the heart of global finance, connecting with leading industry professionals and gaining practical insights into global markets. Students can also participate in a banking week in London, further expanding their industry insights and international network.
In keeping with IESE’s values, the MiF curriculum will also go beyond technical training to cultivate responsible leadership, critical thinking, and ethical decision-making in complex global contexts. Students will explore the intersection of finance, sustainability, digital transformation, AI, and ethics.
The curriculum includes:
- A core curriculum covering finance, data analytics, valuation, sustainable finance, and AI.
- Students choose between three career-focused tracks: Corporate Finance, Capital Markets, and Banking and Financial Innovation.
- A final master’s thesis tailored to each student’s chosen track.
- Internship.
IESE’s MiF students will also benefit from IESE’s engaged global alumni network and strong employer relationships across Europe, the Americas and beyond.
Expanding IESE’s Pre-Experience Portfolio
The Master in Finance is IESE’s second pre-experience master’s program, joining the Master in Management (MiM), which was launched in 2019. Both programs are taught in English at IESE’s Madrid campus and reflect the school’s commitment to preparing young professionals to lead with impact and integrity.
