IESE Business School will host the 26th Annual Automotive Industry Meeting, led by IESE Professors Pedro Nueno and Marc Sachon Nov. 22-23 on the school's Barcelona campus. The event will bring together high-level executives from key companies to discuss megatrends in the sector.
The meeting kicks off on Tuesday with the presentation of the IESE Auto 2011 Award, which recognizes achievements in management, professional development and commitment from leaders and executives in the automotive sector. The presentation will be made during an evening reception.
Among the high-profile leaders slated to speak are: José Manuel Machado, president, Ford Spain; James Muir, president, SEAT; Frank Torres, board member and general manager, Nissan Motor Ibérica; Antonio Cobo, general manager, General Motors España and Ludger Fretzen, general manager, Volkswagen-Audi Spain. The invited speakers will debate issues related with the economic crisis, particularly strategies that companies have set in motion that have generated positive results in terms of benefits, innovation and meeting the needs of consumers and the environment.
The meeting will also include the participation of Phillip D. Brady, president, National Automobile Dealers Association; Francisco Javier García Sanz, president, ANFAC; Henry Z. Li, general director, Grupo BYD; Antonio Romero, president, Faconauto; and Albert Still, president, AVAG Holding. Providing closing remarks will be Francesc Xavier Mena, Minister of Industry and Labor for the regional government of Catalonia.
